David Paul Sjullie Sr., 64, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023, at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Private family services will be held.
David Paul Sjullie was born at St. Luke’s Hospital on Sept. 15, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Gerald and Arlene (Decker) Sjullie.
David lived a full life. He was a people-person who would light up the room and be the life of the party. David was an adventure seeker, who rode over 100 rollercoasters in his life. He dedicated over 30 years to his occupation at KCRG, where he was a part of the championship softball team. David bowled two perfect games in his life, and many tournaments. He enjoyed racing, fishing, traveling, gardening, grilling, and especially the Cardinals and Hawkeyes.
David is survived by his children, David (Claudia) Sjullie Jr. and Kristi (Alex) Sjullie-Pick; grandchildren, Allie, Cassandra and Dalina; parents; brother, Greg (Adriana) Sjullie; nephews, Alex and Marcus Sjullie; aunts, Audrey Hyke and Betty Roesler; and uncle, Louie Decker.
David was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
