Data: IEDA announces $336,000 in arts grants for Linn, Johnson County recipients

Gov. Kim Reynolds and the Iowa Economic Development Authority on Monday announced that more than $1.4 million in grants were awarded to advance the arts, culture and creative industries in Iowa.

Statewide, 131 organizations and Iowans were approved for funding in 2024. Among them are the following 29 grant recipients within Linn or Johnson County, who were awarded $336,252 in funding. The grants are matched by local and private investments.

The IEDA news release highlighted several of the grant recipients, including three individuals in the Corridor region:

Greenlight Grants program recipient Andrew Sherburne of Iowa City, who will complete “6-on-6,” a documentary film project “celebrating Iowa's unique girls' basketball history and the unheralded all-state player who paved a pathway for equality.”

Also, Iowa Artist Fellowship program fellows Antonio Chalmers of Cedar Rapids and Nina Lohman of Iowa City.
