Iowa City police seek help identifying stabbing suspect

The Iowa City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a Tuesday afternoon stabbing that injured a man during a robbery, authorities said.
Police responded to Mercy Hospital, 500 E. Market St., at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a stabbing. The victim told police he’d been walking to his car in the Mercy parking ramp east of the hospital on Johnson Street when an unknown man came up to him.
The man pressed an object to the victim’s back and demanded the victim’s wallet. When the victim turned around, the man stabbed him multiple times before running away, police said.
The victim was able to walk into the hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injures, according to police.
