IOWA CITY — Iowa women’s basketball has made history yet again in 2023.
Season tickets for 2023-24 have sold out for the first time in program history, the team announced Monday in a news release.
Iowa had only sold out three regular-season games in program history, let alone any season, before Monday’s announcement.
While the sellout became official this week, the news had been long expected.
Iowa Athletics had to pause season ticket deposits in April because of booming interest after receiving deposits for 6,700 new season tickets. (That was in addition to the 6,500 existing season tickets.)
The Hawkeyes are coming off a national championship game appearance and have several key players returning, including star guard Caitlin Clark.
Tickets will become available this week for Iowa’s Oct. 15 exhibition against DePaul at Kinnick Stadium as the Hawkeyes try to break the national women’s basketball attendance record of 29,619.
Women’s basketball season ticket holders will have first dibs on tickets on Tuesday, followed by donors and football season ticket holders Wednesday and the general public on Thursday.
