Donald G. Graham, loving husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa, passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 67 years, Betty; daughters, Susan Graham of Cedar Rapids and Patty (Bob) Pannkuk of Woodbury, Minn.; son, Chuck (Laurie) Graham; grandchildren, Michael, Kurt, Kirstin and Andrea (Scott); and great-granddaughter, Emersyn.
Donald was born in Iowa City, the son of George and Mabel (Cowles) Graham, on May 28, 1934. He attended City High, where he was a member of the state championship football team in 1951. He graduated in 1952. Don enjoyed working for Rockwell-Collins for over 40 years, retiring in 1992.
Don will be remembered for his generosity, always trying to help those people out who were going through difficult times. He was a man of God and was a devoted member of Hillside Wesleyan Church. Don enjoyed spending time and taking vacations with his family, especially his grandchildren. Celebrating holidays and birthdays with his family was a favorite pastime. He also enjoyed watching and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeye women’s basketball team.
A visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, 2 to 3 p.m., at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. Burial at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the West Ridge Care Center staff for their kind and loving care of Don.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Don’s honor to his favorite charity, the Hillside Pantry, or to Hillside Wesleyan Church.
