Donald Wayne Hubler, 64, of Cedar Valley, passed away from complications of cancer while in the comfort of his own home with his family and friends by his side. A Celebration of Life will be held at Cedar Valley Park, Shelter 1, on Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. Rev. Ronald Lashmit will officiate. This will be a potluck so bring your own favorite dish. Donald was born on Oct. 5, 1958 in Iowa City. He was the son of William Milton Hubler and Betty Lee Williams Hubler. Donald worked for many different people over the years but he worked primarily in the construction business and area farmers. He also worked at Louis Rich for quite a few years.
Donald was a good friend to everyone. Kids called him old McDonald and he loved to give kids candy. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved mushroom hunting, fishing and berry hunting.
Donald is survived by his sisters; Linda (Keith) Lamp of Tipton, Gloria (Randy) Rodgers of West Branch, Jolene (Bob Zimmerman) Luettjohann of West Branch, Lorraine Carney of Tipton and Janice (Terry) Carney of Tipton; his brother, Randy ‘Hop’ (Kayleen) Hubler of Tipton, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Roger Hubler; and his niece, Anna McAtee.
