Governor puts own interest ahead of Iowans’

It doesn’t amaze me that the governor says life is sacred, but she’s not a champion of the 339,090 people living in Iowa that are living below the federal poverty line of $30,000 for a family of four!
If the governor and her party are true champions of life, wouldn’t the government and her party do all they can with the vast financial resources available to eradicate poverty once and for all? Where is the living wage for Iowans so all Iowans can live without poverty? If you are truly pro-life, you advocate for life, birth to death. So far what I see in all the years of Gov. Kim Reynolds are the self-interests of tax cuts for the wealthy and a living wage of $7.25 an hour.
The Governor and her party decry welfare benefits, micromanage unemployment benefits, remove people from SNAP benefits, limit investment in affordable housing — but how many in the Legislature and the governor’s administration have used government loans to finance land and home purchases and use federal loans for college education? Isn’t that welfare in a different form?
My point — the governor can rally her party, call a legislative session to protect the unborn, but can’t protect the lives of 339,090 Iowans who live in poverty.
It seems to me this Governor is interested in her own self interests. What a shame!
