New hires
Brett Southwick has joined Design Engineers of Cedar Rapids as a full-time mechanical project engineer.
Amanda Felton has joined Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust as human resources manager.
Appointments
The following have been elected to the board of directors for the Iowa City Noon Rotary Club for 2023-24: Margaret Reese, president, and Bruce Guither, Trisha Smith, Heather Croskrey and Aaron Schaefer as board members
The Horizons board of directors has named its executive committee for this fiscal year: Adam Conzemius, chair; Kelly Edmonds, vice chair; Alissa Carson, secretary; and Tara Dumolien, treasurer. The following members also will begin serving three-year terms on the board: Brenda Calman, April Golwitzer, Lucy Schneekloth and Danielle Schwiebert. :
Leah Rodenberg has been named president and Julie Lammers vice president of the Marion Public Library Foundation. New board members are Brady Quinn, Tamara Strand and Vaughn Klopfenstein.
Promotions
Rinderknecht Associates has announced the following promotions: John Baker to project executive; David Lukan to senior estimator; and Ginger Zenor to project manager.
Skywalk Group promoted Mike Posivio to recruiter II.
Kudos
UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids has been ranked the fourth best hospital in Iowa in the U.S. News & World Report 2023-24 edition. St. Luke’s also was ranked “high performing” in seven adult procedures and conditions: heart bypass surgery, heart attack, stroke, pneumonia, prostate cancer surgery and hip and knee replacement.

20 YEARS: Day Mechanical Systems Inc. is marking its 20th anniversary as a women-owned mechanical contractor in Cedar Rapids. It provides Corridor businesses with plumbing, heating and process piping assistance.
50 YEARS: The 50th anniversary of GTG Peterbilt-Cedar Rapids was noted Friday in a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance at 9201 Sixth St. SW. GTG Peterbilt supplies the trucking industry with products. The Grask family has been truck dealers in Iowa for more than 75 years, beginning in Des Moines as a GMC dealer and expanding to Cedar Rapids in 1973. It became a Peterbilt truck dealer in 1983 and now operates in seven locations in the Midwest.
