Connie Lea Stuefen, nee Burt, 77, of Covington, passed peacefully in her home on Aug. 3, 2023, following a sudden illness. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday Aug. 6, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacecntre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St., SW. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, followed by interment at Spring Grove Cemetery in Covington. A reception will follow at The Salvation Army Corps Community Center, 1000 C Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids.
Connie was born April 9, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Marvin and Mildred (Meeks) Burt. She attended Jefferson High School Cedar Rapids, class of 1964. She was united in marriage to Marshall Allen Stuefen on June 19, 1964. Connie worked as a floral designer for many years at Barlows, Randall's Foods and also freelance. She enjoyed music, traveling to music festivals, cooking, baking and, most of all, spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Connie is survived by her two sons, Allen (Raven) and Brian (Michelle); her nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; her brother, David Dankert; her sister-in-law, Kelly (Terry) Moritz and Stephanie Lange; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marshall; siblings, Jeffrey and Suzzane Dankert; and sister-in-law, Debbie Largeteau.
