Bruce Douglas Harford, 92, of Davenport, and formerly of Marion, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, at Risen Christ Lutheran Church, Davenport. Funeral services begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park, Cedar Rapids. Memorials may be made to Mission Central, 40718 Highway E. 16, Mapleton, IA 50134.

Bruce was born June 13, 1931, in Marion, the son of Herbert and Mary (Tshopee) Harford. He was united in marriage to Ruth Rathbun on Dec. 23, 1951, and she preceded him in death in 1990. He then married Judith (Soden) Werning on July 8, 1994, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Marion.
He was a proud Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
Prior to his retirement he had worked as a lab tech for Rockwell Collins, Cedar Rapids.
He was active in his church, and enjoyed bowling, woodworking, watching sports, and a good cookie(s).
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Judy; son Douglas Harford of Brigham City, Utah; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two stepchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
In addition to his first wife Ruth, he was preceded in death by his sister Eileen Parmer.
