Chuck was born March 28, 1957, the son of Edward and Mary B (Klima) Swenka. He was raised on the family farm in Oxford, and graduated from Clear Creek Community High School in 1975.
Chuck was a simple man and an extremely hard worker, he held many jobs over the years including helping on the family farm, working at the local Oxford hardware store, driving a school bus where he loved giving his riders full size candy bars on the last day of school and owning CDS Construction for over 20 years. Of recent, he drove semi for Frozen Food Express.
Some of Chucks favorite hobbies included watching Iowa Football with Mike Lentz and the Dawg house family at the Dawg House or at Charlotte & Scott Blocks, where he very much enjoyed Charlottes home cooking. He loved connecting with friends/family over a few beers or going out to eat, as Chuck was a little bit of a foodie. He also enjoyed talking about construction, politics and teaching his children how to stretch a dollar. His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren and he often showed pictures and bragged about them all!
Chuck is survived by his children, Leah (Cody) Moravec of Ankeny, Iowa, and Jake (Carrie) Swenka of Marengo, Iowa; grandchildren, Lydia Swenka, Harlyn Moravec, Hadley Moravec and Hayden Moravec; siblings, three sisters, Ardis (Dave) Sevcik, Becky (Robert) Kaefring and Carol (Jim Pearson) Swartz; sisters-in-law, Linda Swenka, Gloria Swenka and Deb Ranshaw; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
