Donald Lee Dolash, 85, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023. Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Oakland Church of the Nazarene in Cedar Rapids. Inurnment: Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo.
Donald was born on March 31, 1938, in Toledo, Iowa, the son of Frank and Wilma (Drahos) Dolash. He graduated from Toledo High School in 1956. Donald served his country in the U.S. Army for three years. He was united in marriage to Deborah Jean Nation on Nov. 12, 1960, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Donald retired from Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids after thirty-seven years of service. He was a member of Oakland Church of the Nazarene in Cedar Rapids. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, and woodworking. Donald never knew a stranger.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Deborah of Cedar Rapids; children, Scott (Kari) Dolash of Cedar Rapids and Tracy (David) King of Cedar Rapids; granddaughters, Grace (Ryan) Chabal and Anna King; step-grandchildren, Ryan, Aaron and Emma Slaubaugh; and brothers, Eugene (Judy) Dolash of Deltona, Fla., and Loren (Theresa) Dolash of Luck, Wis.
Preceding him in death were his parents; infant granddaughter, Katherine Grace King; and brother, Roger Dolash.
The family wishes to thank UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospice for the exceptional care given to Donald.
