Harry’s Bar & Grill opening soon in downtown Iowa City

IOWA CITY — A new bar and grill is opening soon in downtown Iowa City.

Harry’s Bar & Grill, with fresh signage and an awning on its storefront at 116 E. Washington St., hopes to offer a full menu soon in the spot between Mesa Pizza and Bo-James.

Social media pages for the diner and pub house started to appear in April.

A full menu has not yet been published, but diners can soon expect a wide range of American food including breakfast, burgers, Philly sandwiches and fried chicken, according to the restaurant’s comments on social media. Instagram posts have featured photos of pork roll, egg and cheese sandwiches, and hatch chili macaroni and cheese.

One menu sneak peek features dishes like the “Philthy Animal Taylor” sandwich with Taylor ham, rib-eye and grilled onions, and a Po’boy with cheese curds and wild mushrooms.
