Goosetown Cafe temporarily closed

Jul. 19, 2023 9:40 am
IOWA CITY — Goosetown Cafe in Iowa City abruptly announced a temporary closure on July 12.
The social media announcement, with no context and few details, only says “Changes coming to 203 N. Linn St. — TEMPORARILY CLOSED.”
It’s unclear when the Northside cafe will reopen or what prompted its closure.
Owners Kathy and Peter Kessler reopened the restaurant in January 2022 after a short closure, bringing on new Executive Chef Chris Grebner. The concept changed from a breakfast and brunch spot to a seasonal farm-to-table concept with a menu that changed weekly.
The transition from breakfast and brunch to lunch and dinner was prompted by demand, they told The Gazette in May 2022.
