Laurie Lynn Sexton, 63, of Toddville, Iowa, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Laurie’s home at 7900 Wildwood Lane, Toddville, Iowa, on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, from 5 to 8 p.m. A private inurnment will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Chapel Garden at a later date.

Laurie was born on Aug. 14, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late John and Peggy (Hess) Booze. She worked at Quaker Oats and she was the owner of Papa’s Sports Bar in Hiawatha, Iowa. She was a member of The Isle of Iowa Parrot Head Club, she was a wonderful artist, she loved attending live music events, and she hosted many house concerts.

Those left to cherish Laurie’s memory are her partner, James William Roman, of Toddville, Iowa; her daughter, Heather Sexton of Hiawatha, Iowa; her sister, Julie Houston, of Maple Grove, Miinn., a brother, David Booze, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; niece, Lauren (Austyn) Houston, of Comfrey, Minn.; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Keilani, Kolton and Jameson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Booze.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Isle of Iowa Parrot Head Club.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at St. Luke’s Hospice for all the love and support they showed Laurie while she was in their care.
