SIMPLE, LOGICAL: The Department of Transportation will print state road maps every two years rather than annually beginning in fiscal 2016. THANK YOU, JOHN: KCRG-TV9's John Campbell anchored his final sportscast Friday, retiring after 33 years of exemplary service. His focus on telling the story, his exceptional storytelling and video skills, his ability to ask tough questions in a fair-minded way, and his remarkable work ethic gained him much respect, both within the company and among many Eastern Iowa viewers. The good news now is that he and his wife plan to remain in the area, and he'll occasionally contribute to KCRG-TV9 reports.

SANTA'S HELPER: For five years, John Blume of Colesburg has, with assistance from his wife, Joyce, collected or purchased broken toys, repaired them and donated them to Operation Santa Claus in Manchester. This year alone, he donated 392 toys.
