Nancy C. Baines, 74, of Iowa City died at her home, Thursday, July 6, 2023.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Nancy and her husband, Dale’s lives will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the VFW in Iowa City. To share a thought, memory or condolence please visit the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service website at www.gayandciha.com.
Nancy was born in Spring Grove, Minn. on Jan. 18, 1949. She came to Iowa City and worked for many years at the former K-Mart, Turner Microphone and retired from the former Sheller Globe, IAC. She married Dale E. Baines on June 18, 1983. The couple enjoyed their motorcycle travels, spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, camping, dogs and cats. She was a bit passionate about Betty Boop and Diamond Art.
Nancy’s family includes their children, Kerry O’Brine, Heidi Pyos, Tanya Peer and Brian Laschke; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and Dale’s siblings who were like her own, Bea Chila, David Baines (Mary), Terry Baines (Mary), Bart Baines (Pat) and Carl Baines (Sandra).
