Randall L. Scheer, 66, of West Branch, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 3, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, with Pastor Daniel Redhage officiating. Visitation will also be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 9, at the church on Sunday. Private family burial will be in the West Branch Cemetery.
Randy was born Oct. 31, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Dorance and Dorothy (Meyer) Scheer. He was united in marriage to Emelita Aliganga on Feb. 13, 1990, in Tipton.
Survivors include his wife, Emelita; daughters, Cassandra (Cale Raasch) and Sarah (Allan J. Furr) Scheer, both of Ames; siblings, Doug (Beth) of Marion, Karla (Brian Hintermeister) Scheer of Lowden, Dave (Jeanne) of Wheatland, Mike (Joy) of Clarence, Steve (Janet) of Lowden, Lisa (Jeff) Decker of Lowden and Chris (Joan) of Lowden; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Benjamin Scheer.
Randy was a man that loved the outdoors, including fishing, hunting and farming. He also loved a good laugh and enjoyed playing cards with his family.
