Cathy Ann Kelchen, 59, passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, July 2, 2023, following a lifelong battle with diabetes, organ transplant and most recent heart surgery. Cathy worked in the financial field for BMO. A 1982 graduate of Regis High School, she mostly enjoyed “The Boys,” their dogs she raised with Dave Carlin, the love of her life. She was an expert quilter, seamstress and spent countless hours behind her sewing machine.
Cathy is survived by her mother, Pat Kelchen and brother, Mark (Teri), both from Cedar Rapids; and brothers, Jerry (Deanna) and Dave (Heather), both of Vinton, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Kelchen of Cedar Rapids.
The family extends special thanks to Dave Carlin for always being there with Cathy and her best friend Krista who has traveled great distances to be with her in time of need.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 5:50 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at Cedar Memorial Family Center & Library. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
