Brandon Lee Dvorak, 33, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023. In agreement with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 7, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion.
Brandon was born on Aug. 16, 1989, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of David and Melody (McGinty) Dvorak. He was a 2008 graduate of Anamosa High School and went on to earn his associate degree in business management from Kirkwood Community College. On June 22, 2013, Brandon was united in marriage to Alisha Malecek at Oakland Church of Nazarene in Cedar Rapids. He worked in sales for six years at McGrath Volkswagen in Marion. Brandon was very active, enjoying volleyball, disc golf, playing computer games and was an avid reader. He never met a stranger and loved to meet new people. Making everyone laugh was his mission. Brandon was very family oriented and enjoyed being among friends. Brandon will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Brandon is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 10 years, Alisha Dvorak of Marion; parents, Dave and Melody Dvorak of Viola, Iowa; mother and father-in-law, Anne and Timothy Malecek of Marion; sister, Heather (Jordan) Darrow of Anamosa, Iowa; sister-in-law, Megan Malacek of West Des Moines, Iowa; brother-in-law, Jared Malacek of Marion; paternal step-grandfather, Cletus Klein of Iowa City; pets, Jack, Lola, and Mavis; his closest friends, Andrew and Tori Armas; and a large group of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dave (Reta) McGinty; paternal grandparents, Edwin Dvorak and Marcella Dvorak Klein; and Alisha’s grandparents, Joe (Leona) Malecek, and George (Maurita) Leahy.
