Anna Louisa Roberts, 86, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Heritage Specialty Care in Cedar Rapids. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private Funeral Mass for the family will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hiawatha. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Nevada, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion, Iowa, is assisting the family.

Anna was born on March 30, 1936, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, one of 12 children to John and Rosa (Bigger) Guinn. On Feb. 1, 1955, she was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Alvin Roberts in Emmetsburg. To this union, eight children were born. Anna and Jerry later divorced. Anna worked as a seamstress for Gildner’s in Marshalltown, Iowa. She loved to garden and always needed more dirt. Anna will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Anna is survived and lovingly remembered by five children, Christine Woosley of Fort Myers, Fla., Wyatteta “Etta” Schrader of Marshalltown, Iowa, William “Bill” Roberts of Marshalltown, Susan Swanson of Kelly, Iowa, and Erin Guthrie of Cedar Rapids; brother, John “Jack” Guinn Jr. of Mankato, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Patsy Rice, John and Victor Roberts; five brothers; five sisters; one son-in-law, Marlin Woosley; one grandson, Donald Woosley and Donald’s wife, Sarah Woosley.
