Lawrence “Larry” Francis Lynch, 72, of Robins, passed away on June 25, 2023. He was born on July 15, 1950, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Melvin and Luella (Meade) Lynch.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary.
He was a loving husband to Christine Lynch for 29 years and a devoted father to his children, Stephoni Hager, Jesse Lynch, Dan (Holly) Lynch, Misti McDermott and Dorothy (Justin) Hansen; and his stepchildren, Grant (Kim) and Sarah Keiser. Left to cherish memories are his siblings, Beverly Whetstine, Colleen Kessler, Pat Lynch, Dan (Robin) Lynch, Mike Lynch, and Kristy (John) Kellbach; and numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Larry served in the U.S. Marines after high school before returning to Iowa where he received a degree in agribusiness. He then moved to Colorado and worked as a coal miner for several years. After moving back to Iowa he started Lynch Brothers Roofing and grew it into a successful local business that continues today.
Larry learned to love the mountains in his time in Colorado and returned every summer for camping in the mountains with his young children. After being introduced to skiing by the love of his life Chris, it immediately became his favorite hobby.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, from friends and family to every acquaintance and customer he dutifully served in his 30 years as a business owner.
His life will be celebrated on July 9, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lowe Park in Marion, Iowa, in the Hickory Room.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org/get-involved-now/donate?form=alz_donate) in his honor.
