IOWA CITY — The prices to watch Caitlin Clark and the reigning-national-runner-up Iowa women’s basketball team at Carver-Hawkeye Arena will be higher in 2023-24.
For those renewing season tickets, the prices will be $175 for adults and $140 for faculty, staff and seniors. Youth tickets will be $60.
New season tickets will cost $195 for adults, $160 for seniors and faculty/staff and $75 for youth.
Season ticket prices for women’s basketball were previously $125 for adults, $90 for seniors and $30 for youth for new and renewing ticket holders.
Men’s basketball season tickets will remain the same as last year — between $325 and $375 for the general public and between $280 and $320 for faculty and staff. Those prices are in addition to minimum donations.
Season ticket renewals have begun Friday for both men’s and women’s basketball. Iowa plans to reach out to those who submitted deposits for new season tickets starting on July 10 “in priority order.”
The athletic department paused accepting women’s basketball season ticket deposits in early April amid unprecedented demand. Iowa received 6,700 deposits for new tickets.
The 6,700 deposits are in addition to the 6,500 existing ticket holders who have first dibs at tickets in the 15,056-seat arena.
Women’s basketball deposits remain paused, deputy athletics director Matt Henderson told The Gazette. If any season tickets are still available after going through the 6,700 new deposits, Henderson said there will be a general sale at a later date.
“We have to make sure we have room for them first, and then we’ll take on newcomers,” Iowa athletics director Gary Barta said in April.
Because of high expected renewal rates for women’s basketball, existing season ticket holders will have “very little movement opportunity,” according to the news release.
“Fans should renew expecting the same seats as last season,” the news release said regarding women’s basketball tickets.
The flourishing fan interest and higher prices follow a historic 2022-23 women’s basketball season in which Iowa advanced to the national championship game for the first time in program history.
New ticket deposits for men’s basketball remain open, Henderson said.
Student tickets for men’s and women’s basketball are not yet available.
