Robert “Brian” Deal, 59, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Monday, June 26, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: two hours prior the service.
Survivors include his children, Liz (Dustin) Fortner and Addi Deal; grandchildren, Krimson, Zander and Arrayah; sister, Gail (Dave) Crane; nieces, Shanna (Lore) Swartzentruber, Dawn (Everett) Sanchez and Tara (Craig) Crane; nephew, Chris Schmitz; and many loving family members and friends.
Brian was born on July 12, 1963, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Robert Lee Deal. Brian joined the U.S. Marines in 1981, honorably serving until 1987. Brian recently worked as a trainer in the packing department for Nordstrom. Brian also owned a roofing company and was a coach for volleyball, basketball and an emphasis in football, as he was an avid Kansas City Chief fan. Brian enjoyed fishing, football, NASCAR, coaching, playing video games with Addi, and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He became friends with everyone he met. He was a great father, papa, brother and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents, Clayton (Marian) Burns.
