Richard “Dick” Frondle, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the Corridor Crossing Place in Cedar Rapids, surrounded by his loving family. He would have been 97, on July 4, 2023.
A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Saturday, June 24, from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. with the certified

Dick was born on July 4, 1926, in Belle Plaine, Iowa. He was the son of the late Charles and Letta (Shadbolt) Frondle. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy when he was 17 and got through 11th grade. After four years, he received a special diploma from the US President for his senior year. When he got home, he bought his first truck and drove for different companies like H & W Motor Express. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was also a past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, member of the VFW and a 50-year member of the American Legion.
Dick is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Carol (Scott) Christiansen of Faribault, Minn.; his step-children, Bev Myers, Cathy Ham, Robert (Michelle) Kirk of Riverside, Calif., and Brenda (Pat) Quandt of Coggon; and a sister, Pat Frederick of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Frondle; his parents; his brothers, LeRoy, Charles and Orville Frondle; and a sister, Virginia Morrie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Honor Flight of Eastern Iowa.
The family would like to thank the entire staffs at the Corridor Crossing Place and the Essence of Life Hospice, especially Molly for all the love and support they showed Dick while he was in their care.
