Rozella Ilene (Miller) Belfield, 95, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Heritage Specialty Care in Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton, with Rev. David Lingard officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church on Friday.
Rozella Ilene Miller was born on April 18, 1928, in Mt. Auburn, the daughter of William and Alma (Demmel) Miller. A lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Rozella was baptized on May 13, 1928; and confirmed on Aug. 17, 1941. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Vinton. Following graduation, Rozella taught country school, prior to her marriage. On Nov. 9, 1947, she was united in marriage to Paul D. Belfield at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton. Rozella was very devoted to her faith and her church and was a founding member of the Mary & Martha Guild at Trinity. Raising children was her primary occupation. After her children were grown, Rozella enjoyed babysitting for several local families. She also enjoyed gardening and canning.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Pat (Jerry) Kennett of Walford, Sharon (Ken) Paulsen of Ardmore, Okla., Bill (Robin) Belfield of La Porte City, Jan Fowler of Center Point and Barb Lazenby of Hiawatha; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ronda Smith of Silvis, Ill., and Ramona Kirchner of Iowa City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul in 2005; four great-grandchildren; and her brother, Lyle Miller.
