Benedict John Kremenak Jr. was born April 28, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Lucille and Benedict Sr. Kremenak. He was a graduate of Washington High School and served in the U.S. Army. His tour consisted of 24 months in Germany. Ben married Leilani (deceased) on Dec. 26, 1964, at Saint Wenceslaus Church in Cedar Rapids.
Ben’s family consisted of brothers, Frederick Kremenak (deceased) and Richard (Darla) Kremenak (deceased); sister, Merrie Kremenak Garcia (Chilo); and his beloved dog, Babe (deceased); children, Benedict John Kremenak III (Serena) and children Zachary, Hunter and Paislee; and Jamie Sagastume (Victor) and children Salvador, Rodrigo, Cristofer, Victor Jr. and Jacob; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and his new dog Benji.
Ben was an original member of the Chosen Few Motorcycle Club of Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed riding his Harleys, hunting and driving his RV motor home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Ben’s family.
Visitation for Ben will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St., SE. Following the visitation there will be a luncheon from 1 to 5 p.m. at the CFMC Clubhouse, 1027 Ninth St. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.
