Julie Walker, 64, of Prairieburg, died May 29, 2023, at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Prairieburg. Rev. Sean Smith will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, rural Prairieburg. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to the time of service. Julie Marie Walker was born Dec. 30, 1958 in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Barbara (Kindl) Walker. She attended school in Central City and graduated from Central City High School in the Class of 1977. She worked at Rockwell Avionics and Chesapeake Packaging and later provided in home care in the area.
She enjoyed crossword and sudoku puzzles, dogs and animals, taking her nieces to the swimming pool and the Disney Store, gardening and canning with her mother. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and will be remembered as a private person who enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her brothers, Steve, Matt (Shelley), all of Prairieburg, and Rich (Tammy), Central City, as well as by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Gerrianne Kula and Mary Walker.
The family would like to thank the members of the Coggon and Prairieburg Fire Departments, The Linn County Sherriff’s Department, and the members of the Anamosa Ambulance.
