Remove Social Security payroll tax cap

I'm tired of politicians talking of cutting Social Security. I paid into it for over 40 years. I want to know why people that make thousands and some even make millions of dollars a year only pay the same amount of Social Security as people that make $140,000 to 160,000 dollars a year.
I have not heard one person in Congress suggest taking the lid off wages and paying Social Security taxes on all of their income. If they did, the problem of Social Security running out of money would be over.
