AARP endorsement a poor indication of reliability

I am having significant difficulties with a corporation with which I am doing business, and which I chose because it is endorsed by AARP.
I checked the business rating on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website, and the business has an F rating. The complaints on the BBB website are very similar to the problems that I am having.
The unfortunate lesson that I have learned is not to give any preference to an AARP-endorsed company, but to give each company that same consideration, if endorsed or not.
