Coe eliminated from NCAA III softball tournament
Kohawks lose twice to Trine and finish a win short of making championship series
MARSHALL, Texas — Coe’s NCAA Division III tournament journey ended Monday afternoon, one game short of the championship series at Taylor Field.
The Kohawks lost to Trine, 4-1.
The game was moved from late Sunday night due to weather. Trine beat Coe, 9-2, on Sunday afternoon to force the second game.
Trine (44-5) plays Salisbury (46-4) in a best-of-3 series that begins Tuesday.
Coe (39-11) was limited to four hits Monday and Trine pitcher Debbie Hill recorded 10 strike outs.
Skylar Stookey (Solon) had two hits for the Kohawks.
