Mundane things mean the most

Recently, my daughter’s vehicle was broken into, and she had her wallet, air pods, change and a bunch of miscellaneous items stolen. The sad part is the thieves don’t stop to think about what all they are doing. Not only did my daughter lose have her bank card, her credit card, license, and some money in her wallet, but she also had her father’s laminated obituary and a picture from her father’s wallet of the whole family. The real meaning was that picture was from her father’s wallet. So not only does this child have to still work through her grief after seven years of missing her father, but she now deals with the violation of being stolen from, in her own driveway, and losing the last item she was holding on to from her father’s wallet.
I really wish people would think of someone other than themselves and who they might be hurting and how deep that wound is that they are creating by taking something so mundane to them, but the world to someone else.
