Andrew Lavern Kuehl, 79, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, May 28, 2023, with his family surrounded with him. Private family services are being held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sherry; his daughter, Melissa (David) Watson; his son, Travis Kuehl; his grandchildren, Maddeux and Estelle Kuehl and Michelle Watson; and great-grandchild, Octiva.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ernest John; and sisters, Joan Moores and Louann Kennedy.
Andrew was born Nov. 5, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Lavern and Leola (Dains) Kuehl. He married Sherry L. Kissinger on Aug. 14, 1969, in Marion, Iowa. Andrew worked for 35 years as a welder for Universal Engineering. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Andrew enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing in his younger years and spending time with his grandkids later in life.
