Paula K. Meyer, 59, of Morley, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at her home after a brave battle with lung and brain cancer. A celebration of Paula’s life will be held on Saturday, June 24, at 1 p.m. at her home in Morley. Burial will be in Green Center Cemetery in rural Morley.
Paula was born on June 26, 1963, in Anamosa, Iowa, to Donald Fairley and Barbara Butterfield. She married David Meyer on July 14, 1990, in Morley.
Paula is survived by her husband, David; daughters, Amy Jo (Keith) Keltner and Jennifer (Blake) Carpenter; grandchildren, Brooklyn and Dylan Keltner and Haley, Paisley and Bella Carpenter; and special friends, Kenya Theilen, Kathy Kirby, Kim Heady and Jean McPherson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Lewis and Edna Fairley; brothers, Mike and Steve Schmaljohn; sister, Marcia Schmaljohn; father-in-law, Conrad Meyer; special aunt, Carole Forst; and BFF Lynda Rae.
Paula was an avid race fan, cheering on her husband Dave, son-in-law Keith, and Wayne Hora any chance she got. No matter what she was doing, though, her favorite moments were spent with her grandkids. Paula also served on the Morley City Council for six years.
