Tom Castle has been promoted to provost and vice president for academic affairs at Mount Mercy University.
Tom Ksobiech of Mount Mercy University was promoted to assistant provost for institutional effectiveness.
Chance McWorthy was promoted to registrar and assistant provost for academic operations at Mount Mercy University.
Molly Altorfer of Mount Mercy University has been promoted to assistant athletic director/senior woman administrator.
Brittney Burmahl from Mount Mercy University was recently promoted to controller.
Hills Bank has promoted Brandon Tilley to payment processing officer in the Hills office.
Kudos
Kyle Wilcox, a lawyer at Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman in Cedar Rapids, has been recognized by Best Lawyers as 2023’s “Lawyer of the Year” in tax law.
Lennox Industries has recognized Affordable Heating and Cooling of Anamosa with its Lennox District Partner of the Year award, which signifies excellence in planning and performance, and with its Lennox Centurion Award, which honors community leaders who embody the Lennox brand promise in their market.
Events
CYBERSECURITY: A seminar on the “The Sinister Side of Cybersecurity ... and How to Protect Yourself” will be presented in June at Securian Advisors MidAmerica, 711 Second Ave. SE, Suite 200, Cedar Rapids. Annie Groleau, Securian’s cybersecurity officer, will present the program twice: from 3 to 5 p.m. June 22; and from 10 a.m. to noon June 23. RSVPs are requested by June 16 by calling Katie at (319) 378-1074. The session is open to the public.
LEADERSHIP OF FIVE SEASONS ANNIVERSARY: Leadership for Five Seasons will celebrate its 40th anniversary June 1, with all alumni invited to attend. Since the program's start in 1983, nearly 1,400 business professionals have passed through the leadership training program, gaining lifelong skills that have benefited them personally and professionally.
The 40th anniversary celebration will include food and remarks from friends of Leadership of the Five Seasons, including program founder, former Cedar Rapids mayor Lee Clancey.
The event will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Cedar Rapids from 5 to 7:30 p.m. June 1. Cost is $60 per person, with a share of the proceeds going to the organization’s youth program.
