Edward Joseph Kopecky, 52, of Marion, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023. At his request, there will be no formal service, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.
Ed was born on Jan. 4, 1971, to Ernie and Helen Kopecky in Cedar Rapids. He was a graduate of Kennedy High School and was most recently employed by Fareway. He enjoyed military history and road trips.
Ed is survived by his mother, Helen Kopecky; three sisters, Barbara (Greg) Kerr, Cindy Kopecky (Varun Sharma) and Janet (Chad) Pealer; and niece and nephew, Sophia and Zachary Pealer.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, Ernie.
The family would like to thank St. Luke’s UnityPoint Hospice for their wonderful care the past weeks.
