Congresswoman Hinson should work for Iowans

Iowans know how important it is to take care of their friends and neighbors, but right now, MAGA Republicans like Rep. Ashley Hinson are demanding hurtful cuts to Social Security, veteran benefits, SNAP, Medicaid, and housing assistance programs. Hinson is threatening to default on America and push us into economic shutdown unless we let MAGA Republicans take away healthcare from our veterans, loan relief from students, and food from families.

Why would Rep. Hinson want to wreck our country and hurt Iowans? Under Trump, there was a clean bipartisan vote. We paid the bills. She could instead help by closing tax loopholes that benefit the ultra rich. A wealthy few have always tried calling the shots to avoid paying what they owe. Hinson is working in favor of rigging the rules to avoid paying what they owe. She is creating an economic disaster and blackmailing Democrats in favor of the top 1 prcent. Destroying our economy will also give her a chance to falsely blame others (on far right media) for something she demanded and was responsible for.

If Hinson and MAGA Republicans succeed in their fight, Iowans, children and seniors will go hungry and lose healthcare. We must hold MAGA Republicans accountable for holding our economy hostage. If we come together, we can demand legislators invest in and protect our families. Tell Rep. Hinson to work for Iowans, not hold our economy hostage unless we agree to force people further into debt, hunger and despair.
