Ernest John “Ernie” Thole, 87, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Iowa.
Survivors include Ernie’s wife of 67 years, Marjorie Thole of Manchester; his children, Mark (Pati) Thole of Manchester and Teri (Jim) Trumblee of Strawberry Point; four grandchildren, Mitch (Jacque) Thole, Mike (Amy) Thole, Lori (fiancé, Matt Dengler) Trumblee, and David (Taylor) Trumblee; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Amelia Thole, O.F.S. of Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, Iowa, with Rev. Gabriel Anderson officiating.
Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, Iowa. Friends may also call Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment: St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa.
