Pamela Dee Johnston
Pamela Dee Johnston
Cape Coral, Fla.
Pamela Dee Johnston, 64, of Cape Coral, Fla., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Nov. 13, 2022, after a courageous 15-year fight with multiple sclerosis. Family will host friends and family in the Horseshoe Falls Lodge from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Pinicon Ridge Park, Central City.
Pamela was born June 14, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from Washington High School in 1976. She was formerly married to Kevin Ford, and together they had three children. On May 1, 2006, she was united in marriage to Thomas Johnston, in which they celebrated 16 years together. Pamela began her career in the transportation department and retired after 20 years as the Human Resources Coordinator. Pamela loved taking care of everyone; however, most of her time was focused on her family and loved ones, fur babies, gardening, relaxing in the pool, traveling and snacks.
Pamela is survived by her husband, Thomas Johnston; children, Aaron (Valerie), Amelia, Alex (Kelli), Aaron J and Amy; five grandchildren, Anson, Evelyn, Marshall, Louis and Alisha; her mother, Donna Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
Pamela was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Armstrong; and stepfather, Chet Smith.
Pamela was such a strong person and beautiful soul. She raised her children to be an extremely close family. Her love and support were constant and offered to anyone she knew. She lit up every room she entered. We love and will miss her greatly.
We look forward to family and friends sharing memories of Pamela at the Celebration of Life.
