Macy Ann Bridgewater, 92, of Des Moines, Iowa, died peacefully on May 8, 2023. She was born on Sept. 26, 1930, to Orville and Lecie Hall. She married Ralph Bridgewater on Oct. 9, 1948, and spent the rest of her life with the man of her dreams. She loved being outside, milking cows, mowing lawn or traveling cross country in an 18-wheeler with Ralph. She also enjoyed working at Benton Community Schools as the Transportation Secretary. She was an avid sports fan and loved going to watch nieces and nephews, and grandchildren at their events. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (John) Dvorak of Ankeny, Iowa; her son, Robert (Cathy) Bridgewater of Blairstown, Iowa; grandchildren, Kristine Forret, Aaron Dvorak, Deziray Bridgewater, Danyelle Bieschke and Matt Hyatt, 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Carol (Ross) Miller of Blue Springs, Mo. A celebration of life will be held at the Van Horne Methodist Church on Friday, May 26. There will be a time for reminiscing and visiting with the family from 10 to 11 a.m. with a short funeral service at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow in the church basement. There will be a private ceremony at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown at a later date.
