Teen killed in Cedar Rapids shooting Wednesday night

CEDAR RAPIDS — A 17-year-old boy was killed Wednesday night in a shooting in northeast Cedar Rapids, according to Cedar Rapids police, who didn’t announce that any arrests had been made over the incident.
Police responded at 10:09 p.m. to the 3500 block of Oakland Road NE after 911 callers reported hearing a disturbance and one gunshot.
Officers found the teen suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in his upper torso. He was treated on-scene and transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
The name of the victim has not yet been released.
