You were just 19 when we became the cheer coaches at Jefferson. For the next 27 years, we dedicated ourselves to our squads and to promoting J-Hawk spirit. I was the organizer, and due to your work ethic and choreography skills, we had much success in the community and around the nation. We competed in Marion, Iowa City, Dubuque, and at State. Our squads traveled to NCA Nationals in Dallas five times, to competitions in Myrtle Beach twice, St. Louis, Mall of America, Chicago three times, and performed in five bowl games. One highlight for us was winning the final competition held at Westdale Mall. And since we felt community service was important, our squads participated in many school and community events. We worked as a team, as we tried to provide many opportunities for pride and success! Go, J-Hawks!
