STANDING UP FOR IOWA: Democratic gubernatorial candidate Fred Hubbell will make campaign stops in Deep River and Riverside on Wednesday as part of his 'Standing Up for Iowa” tour.
He also released a digital ad discussing the devastating impacts of the escalating trade war estimated to cost Iowa agricultural producers $1.2 billion.
At noon July 11, he will visit the Dawley Heritage Farm, 2032 470th Ave. in Deep River. At 2 p.m., he will be at the Stutsman Farm, 3754 500th St. SW, Riverside.
FINKENAUER FUNDRAISING: Democratic U.S. House candidate state Rep. Abby Finkenauer raised more than $765,000 in the second quarter fundraising period, covering April 1 to June 30. That's more than double the total raised during the second quarter of 2016 by the previous Democratic nominee.
Since Finkenauer entered the Iowa 1st District race in May 2017, Finkenauer has raised more than $1.86 million from more than 65,000 individual donors with an average donation amount of $16.
Finkenauer is challenging U.S. Rep. Rod Blum in the 20-county district that includes Cedar Rapids, Cedar Falls, Waterloo, Dubuque and Marshalltown.
