Everett W. Sayles, 81, of Le Claire, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be at West Branch Cemetery.
Everett was born on Nov. 11, 1941, in West Branch, Iowa, the son of Ross and Leona (Pirkl) Sayles. He was a graduate of West Branch High School. On Sept 15, 1962, he was united in marriage to Darlys Weaver in Tipton, Iowa. Everett owned and operated Everett’s Body Shop until his retirement in 2019.
Those left to honor his memory are his children, Monte Sayles of Bettendorf and Shawna (Philip) Durr of Natchitoches, La.; two grandchildren, Drake and Aryel Durr; a sister-in-law, Noni Dewell of Clarence, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Darlys; daughter, Scarlett Lynn Sayles; and his brothers, Dale and Alpha Sayles.
