Marion now approves some speeding

Marion's Council was concerned about drivers who exceed posted speed limits within the city. So they approved the installation of automated traffic enforcement cameras. In doing so, they will ironically enable drivers to speed, as Cedar Rapids has, up a certain number miles per hour over the limit without fear of violation when cameras are the ones issuing the citations. How is that a safety improvement?
