Mary (Netta) Siefken, 101, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at Belle Plaine Specialty Care.
Graveside services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, May 6, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown, followed by a reception at the Blairstown Presbyterian Church.
Mary was born on Aug. 30, 1921, in Shiloh Township, Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Nettie (Harms) Stutzman. On Sept. 4, 1943, she was united in marriage to Edwin Siefken at the Marshalltown Presbyterian Church.
Mary was a devoted member of the Blairstown Presbyterian Church. In her younger years, she worked at the Belle Plaine Grocery Store and later worked at the Amana Woolen Mill. She was a woman of many talents, she loved to garden and was an accomplished cook. Friends and family were her greatest joy.
She is survived by her son, Duane (Marlys) Siefken of Belle Plaine; her granddaughters, Kristen (Brian) Schanbacher of Newhall, and their children, Brilynn and Tryce; and Amanda (Ryan) Rhinehart of Shellsburg, and their children, McKenzie and Chase.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin; and two brothers, John Stutzman and C.J. Stutzman.
