Neil Eldon Lininger died March 25, 2023, in Green Valley, Ariz. He was born Jan. 11, 1942, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Ervin F. and Ruth L. Blankenship Lininger, the fourth of four siblings. He graduated from University High School in 1960 and served in the Iowa National Guard. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1964. He married Barbara Sweeting of Iowa City, in June 1966, they had five children and were married 24 years.
He is survived by daughter, Stephanie Lininger of Iowa City; daughter, Shelley (John) Aldrich of Solvang, Calif.; son, Jason (Lisa) Lininger of Mesa, Ariz.; and son, Justin Lininger of Bettendorf, Iowa; his grandchildren, Trevor Greer, Mackenzie (Kyle) Greer Marshall, Evan Lininger, Emma Lininger and Schafer Aldrich; sister, Virginia (Richard) Mohr; brother, Lloyd (Jonna) Lininger; and several nieces and nephews.
Neil was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Jo; his parents; his brother, Melvin. His wife of 31 years, Jeraldine (Frisch), passed away on March 21, 2023, in Green Valley, Ariz.
