Keep biased, agenda-driven organizations out of schools

I wholeheartedly agree with Bruce Lear (“Let’s keep public schools NRA-free,” April 21) in warning our community about allowing the National Rifle Association (NRA) access to public schools to instruct children about gun and hunter safety. Imagine my shock when I discovered 15 years ago that Planned Parenthood had been invited or allowed into our schools to provide curriculum and a representative to teach our children sex education. This was the case in my children’s middle school in Cedar Rapids.
Organizations which could present a conflict of interest ought not have access to our schools. Our children deserve better.
