Constitution does not guarantee right to abortion

An Associated Press wire story printed in this paper (“Trump and Iowa evangelicals: A tight bond,“ April 17) refers to “dismantling of a constitutional right to abortion.” This begs the question: Where in the U.S. Constitution can we find this right?
In 1973, Roe v. Wade made reference to the 14th Amendment. It states that “no state shall deprive any person of life, liberty or property.” In 2022, Dobbs v. Jackson overruled Roe and returned to the states jurisdiction on abortion.
The point is there is simply no mention of abortion in the U.S. Constitution. In fact, don’t the exact constitutional words defend the life of the unborn individual?
