Jon D. Galvin, 83, of Cedar Rapids, passed away April 25, 2023, after a long illness. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel and funeral services at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 30.
Jon was born on Oct. 24, 1939, in Marcus, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice Galvin; daughters, Mary (Robert) Zuroske and Kathy (Daniel) O’Brien; six grandchildren, Angela, Timothy, Ann, Michael, Andrew and Matthew, and their spouses; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Esther Galvin; his siblings, Helen, Roger, Philip and Lyle; and his children, Donna and Timothy.
He is tremendously missed.
